Mozambicans Equipping Mozambique

No such thing as problems: Only opportunities!

The whole purpose, vision, and method behind Equip Mozambique has always been to raise up leaders who are passionate about helping their nation and capable of doing so. This year they have had the opportunity to step up into that calling even more so than usual, as Jon and Carla came to the States for a visit in February, and ended up stuck with visa issues and unable to return. Everything has carried on and even grown in their absence, as the team courageously carries on and even grows in new projects, new employees, and new opportunities!

Fixing Broken Systems

New Grants = New Projects = New Impacts

Early this year we received THREE substantial grants to oversee and carry out some exciting new projects!
  1. One is for rehabilitating a village that was completely devastated by Cyclone Idai in 2019. We have been working on reforestation, agricultural improvements, and establishing community organizations to make them more productive and resilient.
  2. The second is for equipping rural farmers and beekeepers with the global economy so that they are no longer exploited and can receive fair pay for their work.
  3. The third is to develop a health system network for more efficient referrals and a healthier population.
Our team has hired new people to help in these endeavors, and they are well on their way to addressing and fixing some horribly broken systems that are holding so many people back from reaching their full potential.

Reinagels in the USA

On the road again...

Jon, Carla, and the kids arrived in the USA in early February -- to be welcomed by a 100-degree drop in temperature! They have visited friends, family, and churches in Missouri, Illinois, and Colorado, and were supposed to return to Mozambique at the end of April, but God had other plans! Their residency renewal has taken much longer than anticipated due to government slow-downs with covid, and as a result they had to cancel their return flights and extend their stay in the States. But once again, with a little perspective, problems can be seen as opportunities! They are now about to embark on another road trip out East to see more friends and family that are not usually on the itinerary. At this point, they hope to have their visas to return home to Mozambique by the end of June.

The kids loved playing in the snow!
Carla's sister got married while we were in Colorado!

Sharing the Vision

We have been blessed to receive a warm welcome at many churches all across the Midwest, and it has been exciting to share what God has been doing through Equip Mozambique over the past couple of years. Click here to watch one of our presentations in Rolla, Missouri, starting at about minute 31!

Praise Reports:

  • That we received grants to expand our impact into many new areas
  • That the Equip Mozambique team is growing and thriving, even while the Reinagels are gone
  • That the Reinagels have had a very fruitful time in the States

Prayer Requests:

  • For all the new projects to continue to thrive under Mozambican leadership
  • For continued health and travel mercies as the Reinagels drive around the US
  • For the Reinagels' residency visa process to speed up so they can go home
Thanks for reading, please remember us in your prayers!
